1984Echoes
Sweet. #3 and we (Detroit teams) don't usually get lottery luck so... good for Harris (at this point).
Cruzer1
3 is pretty sweet. Good position prospects (outfielders) should be available.
Tenacious D
That was the biggest group of awkward looking guys you’ll ever want to meet. And nice to leapfrog the Royals!
Tenacious D
Anyone know how much our draft pool grows by going from #6 to #3?

1984Echoes
The first 4 guys look like monsters next year (if they all hold up) so we may get ourselves the choice of 2 premium guys that fall to #3...

1984Echoes
(Dylan Crews OF, Jacob Gonzalez SS, Max Clark OF, Chase Dollander RH SP). So we won't be forced into taking a pitcher at #3, but "should" have a choice. Edited December 7, 2022 by 1984Echoes

Cruzer1
The Tigers also get an extra pick at the end of the 1st round.
Cruzer1
The Tigers should be able to have plenty of money to manipulate with these picks.

A smart team should be able to take advantage of an asymmetric park. I don't get the stuff about the park not being "fair" to hitters. It's not a terrible park for hitters, It's below average home run park, but it's pretty close to neutral for run scoring. The obsession with the long ball is hurting the game.

Average speed with an arm that won't play RF so most likely ends up in Left. No thanks. I believe there's better sitting for us at #3... Especially with the supposed change in the ball. As an aside, have you seen this story....3 different balls were supposedly used last season https://www.foxnews.com/sports/study-shows-mlb-used-three-different-baseballs-in-2022-after-admitting-two-were-used-last-season

Another thing which I think is going to be an even bigger deal than banning the shift is the pitch clock. Having less time to rest between pitches will likely hurt pitchers significantly. This is purely out-of-left-field speculation, but it also makes me wonder if working faster if going to sort of naturally push them away from max-effort-on-every-pitch. It would be ironic if after all the decades of calling for a pitch clock, another benefit of finally having one turns out to be that it's good for pitchers' health. I would have to think that less time between pitches would force them to get away from max effort on every pitch. Either that or throw even fewer innings.
