Bold prediction: based on the articulateness he has demonstrated this offseason, once he retires, Eric Haase will become Dan Dickerson’s sidekick.

Articulate like Jim Price?

We're only a few weeks away from spring training which means the fluff pieces will be starting shortly, my prediction is Tork either gets the first one or will have the most.

It will be written that he corrected whatever was wrong with him and is barreling up and driving balls like he did in college and early in the minors.

I had the chance last week to attend an event at the Ilitch casino with some Tigers, probably like a scaled back Tigerfest which they quit doing I guess.  I didn't go.  But I saw photos of some players on a stage wearing the jerseys and it hit home how awful the still new home jerseys are.... the nike loo looks larger now and to me it makes the "hat" version of the Olde English D stand out.  Just looked cheap.

Is that what you think?

LOL. Then again, Price at least speaks in complete sentences ecapsulating discrete concepts, which puts him in a league beyond what Matt Shepherd achieves on any regular basis.

Am I missing out on a new orthodoxy? So hard to keep up when you're out of the country on vacation ...

I mean really. Have we ever had an off season whirlwind of activity to match this one?

If this isn’t one of the puff pieces, and if it isn’t followed by actual results on field results…..

really don't understand this, but I did follow you on Twitter anyways.

People had been complaining that they have been doing too much baseball on Antiques Roadshow.

Scott Rolen is now Hall of Famer Scott Rolen.

Scott Rolen was a very good player in his prime, but I am kind of surprised that he got in.  Lots of gold gloves and silver sluggers, and he's certainly more deserving than Baines or Morris, but although he hung on until age 37 he didn't accomplish much after his age 31 season, so his counting stats aren't that impressive.  I think I like Whitaker's career better.

I think Rolen and Whitaker are pretty similar.  Very good for a long time, but never superstars.  Rolen did have 9.2 WAR in 2004, but it was driven, in part, by a huge defensive year which may have been a fluke.  I am also surprised he got in, because he is not the type of player the BBWAA usually notices.
