2022 MLB Postseason Thread

I’m not sure we have ever done one of these in our MTS/MTF history before, so let’s see whether this concept has any legs.

Really good (and fast) one in Cleveland right now.

Isaac Paredes, he of the 116 wRC+ that’s not so impressive to some, just chased Shane Bieber off the mound.

Just turned on the Cards/Phils game, really just want to see what Pujols does.

I thought Jose Quintana was toast a couple years ago but here he is starting game 1 for the Cardinals. Just looked at his stats and he has an ERA just over 2 since STL acquired him. Working their magic again.

Well Pujols hit's a 109mph missile but didn't get enough height on it and it ends up in the CFs glove just short of the warning track. Thought it was gone when it left his bat.

Clase just mowed down the Rays 1-2-3 in the ninth for the save. The game took 2:17 to play. If only they had the pitch clock, it could have been done in 1:50. 😏

Good lord, Michael Kay is calling the Phillies-Cardinals game.

I will say Kay did have a good quote earlier as all the fans in St. Louis were up cheering, to paraphrase "If you want to sell baseball to somebody who has never watched, show them this scene."

Love playoff baseball.   Saw the Cardinals PH get the go ahead home run.   Looks like they are in trouble, though.   Up 2-0 and hit the batter with the bases juiced.

Phils up 4-2 with one out in the 9th.  Love it when visiting teams rally in the 9th. That makes playoff baseball so good.

Damn Cardinals just unraveling, one of the best defensive 3Bs of this century Nolan Arenado just whiffed on a grounder to score a run to make it 5-2 Phils.

A-Rod just said the hardest hit ball all inning has been 88mph yet the Phils scored 6 runs. Crazy!

Cardinals completely falling apart in the ninth inning in St Louis, giving up a six-spot to the Phillies.

I love it.

Bottom of the ninth, Cards have scored a run, two on, two out, Future Hall of Famer Yadier Molina at the plate as the tying run!

God, I love baseball ...

Segura had nice hit on a pretty bad pitch to put them ahead.  Not a Cards fan so I enjoyed it.

ive been watching Michigan but sounds like quite a pitchers’ duel. 0 runs 5 hits combined through 10.

None.

On to the 12th. This is only the second postseason game in history to go into the 12th scoreless. The only other game: Braves-Reds Game 1 WC in 2020. That one went 13.

No score going into the 14th inning. Unbelievable.

Almost even more unbelievable is that the teams have gotten only seven hits between them.
