Jason_R Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 After the combine, is there any chance that Richardson will last past the sixth overall pick? Quote

Hongbit Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Titans also apparently listening on Derrick Henry. No love for old running backs. Quote

I don’t want a 29 year old rb for $10M either but it would be interesting if they would pay some salary and a late draft pick. Lions could let Williams and Swift go and proceed to run Henry into the ground for 2 seasons until he breaks. Could draft a couple the next few drafts on later round flyers too. Won’t happen but fun to ponder. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 I'm not a hard pass on Henry. He has only one more year left on his contract and was still productive. Would easily fill the Jamaal Williams role. If he's available for a mid round pick, I think I'm in. He was still pretty good last year. Quote

I meant Anthony Richardson, not Bijan Robinson. Before the draft most mocks had him in the middle of the first round, too late to impact Detroit’s first pick. I saw one post-combine mock with Richardson going at 7. But at this point I just can’t imagine him lasting that long. And I saw another mock where he went one and Stroud went at 7. I guess I’m starting to feel more optimistic that Richardson’s rise will result in options for Holmes to deal. Quote

Reinvented the position. Couldn't fit in parking spots. Makes heads turn when he runs down the field... But his owner showed him off too much... Now he's got 150,000 miles, there is some body damage, and they're looking to upgrade. I'm not going to give up assets for a used Hummer H1 in his contract season when I could get my own Hummer H4 off the lot in April. I tried. 😂 Quote
Motown Bombers Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 1500 yards, 13 TDs, 4.4 YPC he's certainly not done. You're only committed to him for one year in which you project to be a division contender. Goff excels with a strong run game he can play action pass off of. The question is how much more is he than Jamaal Williams and I wouldn't be looking at anything higher than a 3rd round pick. I don't think Holmes would be interested though. Quote

I don't think I let Stroud pass me unless Anderson or Wilson are also still on the board. Not saying I move up for him, but he's the one QB that would make me say "he's still here??" if he fell. That said, I agree. The ideal situation for the Lions sees four QBs go in the top five. Quote

Damn Mondays but yeah I agree about Richardson I def put it at more than 50/50 he is gone by 6. Quote

Nice to jump in. I would be a hard pass on Henry as a replacement for Williams. Williams locker room presence and personality brings alot to the equation/culture. I 'kind of' think of him similarly to Ivan Rodriguez signing with the Tigers. THey sucked before he joined but he was the first and maintained production, eventually making Detroit a good place to be, bringing others along. All in all my comparison maybe a bit of a stretch, but not knowing much about Henry other than his stats, I'm not doing that. Thanks, I'll try to jump in more over time! 2 Quote

NYLion Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Just listen to Richardson speak, you can tell right off the bat that teams are going to fall in love with him in the interview process. Add in the elite physical tools and strong arm and somebody is going to take a shot at him way higher than he should go. One can say that Malik Willis was a great interview and also had the strong arm but he didn't have near the physical tools that Richardson does, Willis was also a couple of years older. Personally, I wouldn't take him with a top 10 pick nevermind a top 5 pick but it's becoming increasingly likely that he'll go top 10, maybe even top 5. The three things that could really shake up the group before the Lions is a 4th QB being taken, a team reaching for Tyree Wilson (some smoke to the Cardinals really liking him) or Carter's legal troubles scaring teams off. All 3 are possible. Quote

Jamaal at 2 yrs $7.5m? Wagner at 1 year $9m? Those guys would REALLY have to love Dan Campbell to sign at those prices. Quote
