slothfacekilla Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Just now, buddha said: that was a sloppy period of play. the hawks are so bad that the wings are down three of their top forwards and theyre still miles better than the hawks. It really has been some ugly hockey. I kinda feel for hawks fans having to watch this team but that is very fleeting. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Other than the 2-0-1 start, the Wings’ October is starting to feel like the Tigers’ April. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 So many injuries both in the NHL and AHL I hate it Quote
slothfacekilla Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Penalty shot opportunity for our old friend AA here Quote
slothfacekilla Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 .....he scores on a shot made it look easy Quote

lordstanley Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Nifty tip by Kubalik of a Maata shot to make it 3-1 Wings. Quote

lordstanley Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 The Wings were all over the Hawks in the 2nd and it didn't feel as close a 2-goal game, but now Hawks score and it's 3-2 Wings with much of the 3rd period to go. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Zadina is due. Has had chances tonight. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Wings letting this one get away. Zadina misses a break and then on a Wings PP the Hawks score a shortie to tie it. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Didn't think an hour ago that I'd be relieved at the end of the regulation that the game is tied and the Wings will pick up at least a point, but here we are. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Ugh, unforced cough-up by Raymond leads to Hawks' OT winner. Quote
buddha Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 raymond has been shit this year. zadina looks the same: plays really well and cannot finish for shit. their bottom defensemen are awful. they lost to the fucking blackhawks. ridiculous. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted October 22, 2022 Author Posted October 22, 2022 All of our teams suck. We are cursed. Quote
1984Echoes Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Seider looks like he's starting this year a bit slowly... Quote
lordstanley Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 I predicted (maybe not in writing) a sophomore slump for Raymond and Seider not missing a beat. First 4 games hasn't changed that for me. Quote

First four games haven’t told us much yet. Nice record, but 3 of the 4 opponents are among the lousiest teams in the league. The Hawks game was fine until the final period. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 It's wishful thinking that Zadina and Veleno are going to pull Vrana and Bertuzzi's weight. It's going to be tough sledding until those two get back, assuming Vrana does.... Quote
buddha Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 im so disappointed by that hawks game. they were so sloppy against a team they should easily beat. raymond and seider showing off sophomore slumps. Quote

Seider is right at the TOI he averaged last season - ~22-23 min, but I'd almost like Lalonde to cut his time down a bit for a while because I'd rather see him get used to skating harder when he is out there. Just haven't seem him play at as wide open a throttle as I remember him being last season and it makes me think he is out there thinking about conserving his energy. Raymond made some mistakes but I have to give him credit for also playing harder than most the guys out there last night. The Wings are also doing a shit job of protecting Larkin. Someone needed to go take it to the jerk that X-checked him again. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 Wings get a powerplay seconds into the game against Anaheim, pass it around nicely, and Larkin scores on a rebound. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 23, 2022 Posted October 23, 2022 2-1 Wings after a Perron goal, but would be 3-1 if not for a couple of big Gibson saves on a Wings PP. Quote
