1984Echoes Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 I've got to admit it's getting better (better). A little better all the time (it can't get no worse). I've got to admit it's getting better (better). It's getting better since Stevie Y (took over). Quote
1984Echoes Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 And Husso looks like a real find... "Hoooooos!!!" Quote
lordstanley Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 Austin Czarnik called up for today's range against the Rangers. Never heard of him. Ned in net Quote
lordstanley Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 2-0 Rangers after 1. This is the Wings' 3rd game in 4 nights, so not expecting much, but haven't looked too bad apart from the score. Nice passing and shots on the Wings' two power plays but nothing to show for it. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 Luff gets the Wings on the board, 2-1. Hadn't heard of him either until a week ago. Quote
buddha Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 2-2 after 2. good game for detroit in a game i figured theyd get blown out. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 Kubalik had a partial break with a chance to give the Wings a late lead. Still 2-2 with 3:10 to go in regulation. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 Going it OT. Getting at least a point is satisfying. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 Bally Detroit broadcast is clownish. Basketball scores flashing in the bottom corner, fake ads on the glass, moving ads in both ends flipping during key moments of game play. Distracting. The whole league has adopted that this season but the Wings’ is among the most egregious. Quote
1984Echoes Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Shit!!! Stole TWO points instead of ONE!!! Quote
lordstanley Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 Perron to Kubalik for the winner! 3 wins in 4 nights, i wonder when was the last time the Wings did that. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 I hate that those types of reviews are even initiated. Borderline offsides on a 2 on 1, fine, but not when play continues with passes for another 20 seconds. Goal stands, that’s the main thing. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Had DVR'd this one and just realized the recording probably ended before OT, turned it back on just in time to see the goal. They are to 16 pts 4 games ahead of last season. Quote

From what I saw, about half the game off and on, the Wings surprisingly were the Rangers’ equal. Halak had to make some big saves. In the last few minutes of regulation, the Wings looked like the team more likely to score. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 It's amazing how good Larkin is when there is open ice. The wings are able dominate most OT's during his shifts, even more so when he is paired with Seider. Of course we have to hope the Wings can score in OTs because you don't really care to see them go to shoot outs. Not real impressive there, esp without Vrana and Bertuzzi. Quote

What were the Blues thinking not even offering Perron anything?! Kubalik I understand because he hurts the tank for Chicago. Quote

lordstanley Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) Remember way back when we were all worried about Raymond? Another goal tonight, ties it versus the Habs midway thought the 3rd. Edited November 9, 2022 by lordstanley Quote
lordstanley Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 I’ll-timed boarding penalty by Montreal puts the Wings on a 5- minute powerplay that will use up most of regulation. Quote
lordstanley Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 Pretty much squandered that the PP, a Soderblom penalty cut into it, so now onto OT. Wings have dominated most of the game. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) Terrible performance on the PPs. Especially sloppy on the major. Like Mickey said - no sense of urgency. Earlier, the Habs were taking away the pass across the middle on the PP and the wings kept just ignoring their opportunities to close into the slot before shooting. Suter with Raymond and Larkin is also a major mistake. Hope that was just the coach trying it out and not any idea that it worked. Don't want to see that again. Suter has pretty much been a weak link so far period. Edited November 9, 2022 by gehringer_2 Quote
buddha Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 very disappointing result, but the puck luck was going to come back and bite them at some point. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) For as good as Husso has been in games, it looks like we have another Jimmy Howard level bad shoot out goalie. /..sigh../ Good motivation for the team not to get to them. Edited November 9, 2022 by gehringer_2 Quote
