I was very clear, I don’t do social media. In so many ways it’s because of social media that we have some of the problems we do today in this country.

yes it is...but you can see the value of a social media which has some sense of norms.

I think it would be a good idea to block Twitter posts here to protest the Nazi Musk as well.  I realize the sports content is so good but that's like saying you would fight the nazis but you enjoy their music.

Many reddit subs are doing this.  I feel like if any one site could make an impact, that might be the one.

I don't love the idea of disabling X linking on the site because I like seeing those posts show up in these posts. From an aesthetic standpoint, I think it works well, and honestly, the only time I go to X is to find topical posts to link to here. That said, if a move were made to disable it, I wouldn't leave the site over it. (Sorry about that, guys. 😁)

I imagine one way around the Bsky linking problem is to take a screenshot of the post, and then embed a link to it under the screenshot, like so:

Block is the wrong term.  NOT DO IT is what I meant.  Boycott.  Do not enable the evil people who support Nazis.

I've gotten to the point where I'll just copy post text, if I'm ambitious enough I'll open it in chrome and post the link.

As for the social media...we are all hypocrites searching in the dark for honorable answers to crappy situations.  Nothing comes from nothing though.

I still use X but more for entertainment purposes rather than political or news.

Each time you ignore an X post you put a straw under baby Jesus.

I finally went back to Bluesky. I noticed they have a lot more Lions content than Threads. I completely deleted my Threads account. I kind of liked Threads in the beginning.

I thought you couldn't delete Threads without deleting your IG account?  Threads reminds me of reddit in a way.   When a thread is good, it's really good.  But a lot of clickbait and engagement trolls.  And they think I really really really like Brie Larson. I mean, I do... but I don't need to see the same photo of her every day.

You need an Instagram account to create a Threads account, but you can nuke the Threads account if you want. You can also delete both of them.

Meta was already tipping the scales when they decided to suppress political threads. It then just became Instagram without pictures. It had so much potential.

This is a heck of a thread.
