I think Silver really went wayward when he started deviating from data analytics based proclamations to opinion based proclamations.

This is right, and it manifested itself in a number of realms - both political and on COVID. It really got, and continues to be, old to have NYC resident Nate Silver pontificating to many of his readers who don't live on the coasts about what "Real Americans" think. Or hearing him talk about COVID experience from his POV when it didn't necessarily match the experience of everyone in the country.

The nuts and bolts of what he has done on data is extremely valuable and I don't hold him in as low of regard as I do as The Cook Political Report set (ie. Wasserman, Walter), but the site has been a lower priority than in the past because of that and just the tendency of the journalism there to be a bit repetitive.

I thought his name was "Quicksilver" - the whole word and not an abbreviation.

Anywho, I think he worked for the Government.

Did Nate Silver ever work for the Government?

I don't remember.  I thought it was an abbreviation, but that could have just been what people called him.

The correct abbreviation for Quicksilver would have been Hg.

Garth McKinney, wow.  1 for 4 at West Michigan with a double, a walk, a stolen base, and 2 strikeouts.  I wonder where he is working now.

With a name like that I assume Toronto?

Wait until this Supreme Court reinterprets the First Amendment to extend responsibility for it beyond just government to media. Wouldn't that be a great day for America.

Comforting though this might be, I have my doubts as to whether this is immutable law. Someone somewhere is going to turn this assumption on its ear.

Yay get ready for the great whitewashing. CNN is being used by Trump and they’re either too stupid to see it or too craven to care. Not sure which is worse.

Licht strikes again. Trump always finds suckers in the US media to supply his oxygen.
