I have a family member who worked for an engineering/architectural firm that got into bed with Tesla a few years ago. It was a fiasco. The company had to do some major downsizing as a result.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he seems like the type of person who swoops into companies just to get their products, and has little or no understanding of how to build a line of products from beginning to end.

Im stoked you guys are digging bsky.   Ive been there since July or so exclusively and it did help be break ties with X no doubt.   With the most recent migration of people since the election is looking a lot more like pre Leon twitter. 

We even have AOC saying shes all about alf hog now so its got juice.

So, I had joined Bluesky on an invite last year, tried it out for a few days, saw it wasn't really getting much traction, and bailed, just like most people.

This time feels different. I went to recreat my news/politics feed from Twitter and went to my Following list there to try to follow those same accounts at bsky. I would say that roughly two-thirds of them are not yet there as of this minute, including some real major Twitter players. Of the one-third that are at bsky, I see several of them posted a lot in the June to July 2023 timeframe, then not at all until anywhere from a month ago to a few hours ago.

So it seems like people are rediscovering bsky, and I would bet there will be a huge surge in users and usage every day for the next few weeks, and the Bluesky Surge will become an actual news story at some point before the holidays really get revved up.

Too bad I can't invest a few bucks in them right now. 😁

Yup. Slowly adding people, and I’m hoping more join soon. 
 

Remember when everyone tried Hive after Elmo bought Twitter? That didn’t last. Bluesky seems like the best alternative so far.

I was on Bluesky back when it was invitation only, and it was mostly leftists complaining about student debt and how they weren't voting for Biden. I'll have to give it another go.
