He’s a RINO backslider, and she’s his emotional hostage. Mainline conservatives can say what they want about RINOs being on the side of good and all, but when it becomes clear that the curtain is descending on liberal democracy and the opposition still in office can no longer effectively challenge it, RINOS aren’t still siding with Democrats at that point. At best, they’re laying low and keeping their powder dry. More likely, they were never committed to the cause in the first place. I am not calling you a RINO, BTW. I view Never-Trumper conservatives as a bit of a different breed. Quote

That's been a big growth industry since the rise of cable and sadly the public often seems to take it as an actual credential when that type runs for office. Quote

oblong Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 there's a reason he was always on Politically Incorrect back in the day as "the guy who looks like Chandler". I've tuned out a lot of these folks who seem to have built a following by being right leaning anti trumpers.... Conway, Nichols, etc. Reading them doesn't really accomplish anything or make me feel smarter. Nothign personal but just hearing people say what I already think is boring. Are they just part of the grifting game? Quote

Are they just part of the grifting game? Being a right leaning anti-trumper, I'm happy with some of those voices out there stating the concerns I have that I don't think get much airplay in the media. That said, the Lincoln Project, while funny at times, is nothing but a troll. It probably does get under Trumps skin, so I guess I can take some comfort with that, but overall, does it really accomplish anything....not really. I wouldn't put them at Joe and Mika standards though, even though Morning Joe has enjoyed bringing those folks into the show. Joe and Mika just want a seat at the table and will say or do anything to ensure that access. Quote

You aren't wrong on the first part. The second part is well, he's also completely consumed by his need to fit in with the NYC scene and can't get over that. He makes every night at Mar-a-lago a farrago imitation of the Met Gala. Quote

ABC has agreed to make a $15 million contribution to Trump presidential museum/foundation and air an apology for mischaracterizing the E. Jean Carroll verdict. It's actually an on air apology. But still ABC caved to King Donald I Quote

ABC will pay the $15 mil to a Trump Presidential foundation or museum. It you believe that Trump will actually open such a thing, I have a wall in Mexico I'll sell you. ABC shall cause a transfer in the amount of fifteen million U.S. dollars (USD $ 15,000,000) (the "Charitable Contribution") to be made to a Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for Plaintiff, as Presidents of the United States of America have established in the past, in full settlement and satisfaction of Plaintiff's Released Claims as defined in paragraph 5(A) of this Agreement. The Charitable Contribution shall be made by Defendants within 10 calendar days of the Effective Date of this Agreement to an escrow account to be established by Plaintiff's counsel, who will serve as the escrow agent (the "Escrow Agent") for this specific Charitable Contribution. Within 10 calendar days after Plaintiff or his counsel present written confirmation that the appropriate entity has been established by the Plaintiff, and its 501 (c)(3) status has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service, Defendants shall authorize the Escrow Agent in writing to release the Charitable Contribution to the subject entity. chasfh Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 This is not political, really, but, in what certainly must be one of the more unusual twists in MTF history, I am booked to go live on Fox News Channel tomorrow morning at about 10:50 AM Eastern, 9:50 AM Central. I will be appearing on some show called America's Newsroom, during which I am going to be interviewed about the overdue library book story by Dana Perino, who was George Bush Junior's White House press secretary. 1 Quote

Amazing. I saw oblong sharing an article on this. I had a book from the Sterling Heights library on dinosaurs that I have no idea what happened to from like 1985-86ish. 1 Quote

chasfh Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Aaaaaand they killed the segment. They say there's a breaking development in the Mangione story, as if it hasn't been breaking constantly for weeks now! And this after they drove me all the way downtown and everything! Ahhh well ... serves me right for letting you know before it happens than after. They say they will try to get it on tomorrow, but who knows what the chances of that will be. 2 Quote
