oblong Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Gosar flipped to McCarthy. That guy looks weird.... his mannerisms. Almost like someone with Parkinson's or something like it. Mack will finish in the lead but will be short. Will they/can they change it to a plurality rather than majority? Are missing voters going to make the threshhold smaller to win? So that 218 isn't needed? Who isn't there? Quote
oblong Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Based on non votes McC needs 3 more votes. 431 voting members. But one of the D's that didn't vote is on their way back which will move his up to 217 required as there would be 432 voting members. So on a new vote he needs 4. Quote

Norman and Gosar seem big, they didn't seem gettable to me. There's gonna be a lot of pressure on the remaining folks to flip. But the agreement is also delicate as well. Quote

oblong Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 It's surreal watching this today and thinking about 2 years ago.... the cops pointing their guns at the door we are seeing quite often. 1 Quote

chasfh Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 This entire Congress is going to be such a complete fucking shitshow. Quote
oblong Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 He's asked how he can expect to govern given how long this is taking and he says "This is good thing about it, because it takes this long we learn how to govern". What an incredible bullshitty non answer. I've heard better crap in job interviews. Quote
chasfh Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Oh, I see … because it took this long to vote for Speaker, now they know how to govern. Quote
CMRivdogs Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 (edited) Just an aside, there have been a couple shots of Shri Thanedar primping during camera cutaways the past couple of days. What a tool. Someone should steal his toupe. Edited January 7, 2023 by CMRivdogs Quote
mtutiger Posted January 7, 2023 Author Posted January 7, 2023 Now that McCarthy appears to be in line to get the position: Quote
