djhutch Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 They hung with them in the first half - but I did NOT see this coming in the 2nd half. But OSU did play tight. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 a moderately class move by Day not to take his last two TO's Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 What a marvelous performance by JJ McCarthy and Donavan Edwards (with one hand). Quote
RandyMarsh Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Michigan is so lucky to have Jim Harbaugh, one of the 3-5 best football coaches in the world. If I was an NFL team I'd give him a blank check to come coach my team. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Also, fuck Ryan Day and Urban "Lap dance" Meyer for all their cockiness. Ryan Day got punked again like a bitch! Quote
RandyMarsh Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Can't make any excuses about the weather this year either! BTW shout out to Michigan's DBs there may have been a play or two here and there but not counting when they were in total prevent defense they didn't let those great OSU WRs run free, it took great throws by Stroud for them to get any completions. Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Ryan Day's arrogance is off the charts and it cost his team. They didn't make any adjustments and thought after the first quarter they could just keep playing the same way and they lost. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 well, that was certainly unexpected. Quote

Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 242 yards rushing in the second half, simply incredible! Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 (edited) I love how aggressive Harbaugh and his coaching staff were all game. Edited November 26, 2022 by Mr.TaterSalad Quote
RandyMarsh Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Since I have to be a Debbie Downer the bad thing about us blowing it open in the 2nd half along with Clemson's loss is that this now opens the door for a 2 loss Alabama team to sneak into the playoffs. Still a long shot but if USC loses to ND it is a real possibility. Quote

OSU was able to sell out and stop the run when they choose to so it was JJ's passing that broke the game into M's favor. It was pretty much after M got the lead and forced OSU to overplay that it opened up the big runs for Edwards. I'll give Harbaugh credit for not being stubborn - when he had to go pass he went pass and stuck with it even after JJ missed a few early. Also have to credit the officiating crew. The OSU corners were not playing the ball and those were good PI calls but it's all too easy to imagine a universe where they were not called. Edited November 26, 2022 by gehringer_2 1 Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted November 26, 2022 Author Posted November 26, 2022 That was a phenomenal performance by the entire team. 12-0!!!! Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 JJ should get the game ball, but Michigan's secondary, particularly Mike Sainristil. Sainristil was sensational in man coverage all game long! Quote

But I think TCU and USC are going to block them 1 - Georgia 2 - Michigan 3 - TCU 4 - USC Quote
1984Echoes Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Damn Michigan!!! I was expecting a loss and a tenuous hold on the #4 spot if we didn't get usurped... But... damn!!! Watched some outstanding breakaway plays... SEVERAL!!! Very unexpected and... pleasing to see...! Now... FINISH IT! Go ALL THE WAY PLEASE!!! 1 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 Meanwhile Purdue currently choking (but it's early) Nebraska serves the West to them on a silver platter, are they gonna take it? Quote

The narrative will be that the UM line just enforced their will on OSU in the 2nd half and while that may be true to some extent I'd give more credit to the fact that OSU forced JJ to beat them, once he showed he could suddenly they couldn't be so aggressive on defense which helped open up the run game. And yeah even though those calls should have been called you are right that they weren't THAT egregious where if they weren't thrown the refs would've been crucified for. They could've easily not thrown them and just said that the balls weren't catchable or something but they had the guts to throw the flags in a hostile environment. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted November 26, 2022 Author Posted November 26, 2022 Wow wow wow. This may have been the biggest football win in this state in my lifetime. Got to savor it. 2 Quote
