scoot.

zion is an incredible talent, but he's fat and hurt.  the porn star thing is more funny than anything else, but the real issue is the image of him doing 360 dunks in pre game but not being willing to play during a play in game.

how many bad looks can one guy have in a career?  and he's only been in the league for a few years!

but that talent...

Interesting point and it could actually matter to us. It's probably just draft week smokescreens, but there are some rumors that Whitmore could go before Miller and bump him down to us.

If Whitmore goes higher and Amen falls to us I seriously hope we find a trade partner that's in love with him (for instance, Orlando) and trade down. On top of my concerns with Amen's shooting, he needs to be on-ball to do anything on offense, so I see no way we make this work with Cade, Ivey, and Amen.

I was thinking that too that if Amen drops to the Pistons that can open up a plethora of trade options not too dissimilar to Ivey last draft when the trade offers came flooding in (Knicks in particular). Of course, there was a fit for Ivey on the roster with only Cade in the backcourt so it made more sense to just take him but in this case, they could really weaponize Amen's trade value and get a haul. I'm looking at teams with multiple 1sts like Indiana and Utah. Maybe the Pistons take him just because he'd be the top talent on the board but, like you, I don't see a fit whatsoever.

Personally, I'm not buying any of these smokescreens of Whitmore jumping into the top 4 and I'm not even buying all the Miller to Charlotte smoke but who knows? Last year it was widely anticipated that Jabari Smith was going 1st and Banchero was going 3rd so, outside of Wemby going 1, it's up in the air.

Vecinie has Whitmore at 3 on his board though he has him in the same tier as a few others so he still has him going to us at 5 due to Miller with Portland and Amen with Houston being better fits with those teams.

If you're like me you will find this to be great news, Woj just said that this year he won't be tweeting out the picks before they are announced so people can instead find out when they are actually announced on the podium.

That has to hurt Woj.  Shams does not work for ESPN and will be Tweeting out picks the  moment he learns them.  Woj will look to be 5 minutes behind all night.

Also, very odd that Woj will be on the ESPN broadcast knowing the picks but can't say anything?

I'd probably do it, yeah I have HUGE concerns over Zion's health but there is no doubt he is an impact player when healthy and I think considering what we are giving up it would be worth the risk.

JEIII said it's between the twins, Walker, Whitmore, and Hendricks for Detroit.

That's some groundbreaking news by JEIII.

Did he have any word on either you or Lebron (or both) playing for the Mavs?

So, literally all the players in the 4-8 range? OK, got it.

There's also a report out there from Givony, Woo, and their "sources" that the Pistons and Mavs have discussed a deal involving #10 and Tim Hardaway Jr for Bogie and the #31 pick. Probably not the entirety of the deal, because that would be a slam dunk for Detroit, but those would be the core parts of it. I'm guessing we'd have to absorb Bertans and maybe send back someone who can rebound (Bagley or Wiseman), but that's just me extrapolating.

Either way, I'm doing that deal in a heartbeat. Not only because I'd love another lottery pick, but also because I'd love to move Bogie when his value is highest (and get better defensively as a result).

and then we take gradey!

because any plan that has us drafting him and having del wear a jersey with the word d*ck on it is worth the price.

I doubt that those guys have any concrete sources. That trade sounds like something straight out of a Pistons fan fantasy forum.

There's the exchange of talent for talent, but Williamson is just never available.  How does a coaching staff create an offense/defense when they don't know if its best talent is going to be a part of it?  Obviously if health isn't an issue, he becomes the focal point of the offense, its running through him.  If he's not there, scrap that strategy and start over, but go back to it if/when he's ready to go?
