You can’t get that wrong.  If it’s too close to call then you say too close to call.  You can’t call the wrong guy and then clam up when you are wrong.

One of my most hated sports phrases “who wants it more”. What BS.

It's garbage analysis by people who lack the technical knowledge and/or proper articulation in the moment, which is exactly why jocks talk that way.

I’m not sure how to even look that up. 🙂

Just back out to the forum index page and its on the right margin.

And what was going on 8 hrs ago that the site hit its attendance peak?

This is not a pet peeve, which is why it’s not in that thread, but I’ve noticed more lately that some people simply can’t say the word “ultimate” as uhl-teh-mitt, but instead as ohl-teh-mitt, or even oh-teh-mitt. It grates on the ear some, but again, I assume it’s because people can’t manage to say it as uhl-teh-mitt.

Listening to the Tigers radio broadcast the last two days, there have been ads for Superior Asphalt which are apparently voiced by the owners daughter. You’d think she’d take the time fully anúnciate the word “Superior” but just rushed it down to “Super Asphalt”.

Is that like hearing it said "Impor-ent" instead of "Import-ent".  I first noticed this years ago when a young lady was giving us a presentation on our booth layout for a convention and she kept saying "you push this 'buh-en' here, then when you want to bring that up, you push that 'buh-en' over there."  Man she was adorable.

I blame the Kardashians.

It's a millennial thing I guess. I love Ezra Klein of the NYT, but he is a prime media offender of the dropped 't' that somehow tranforms to a 'd' before 'ent'

There were several Aurora like pictures on my social media feed earlier this week. Mostly in the northern part of the Shenandoah Valley. I'm wondering if it may have been a precursor to this event.
