Deleterious Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 RIP Bob Newhart. Maybe it will all be a dream. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted July 19, 2024 Author Posted July 19, 2024 Bob Newhart - one of the funniest humans to ever live. An absolute Ninja of Deadpan. The Standard, actually. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 (edited) Because of the Crowdstrike screwup from this morning. EDIT: Maybe not. Edited July 19, 2024 by Deleterious Quote
oblong Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 I can't believe one action at one company can cause such havoc.... of course yes, I can believe it. But it shouldn't be that way. The race to the bottom continues. Quote

He would do the 'one side of the conversation' shtick, and he was hilarious. Quote

CMRivdogs Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Also Newhart and Don Rickles were best friends. Totally different comic styles. Two of the best Quote
Tigeraholic1 Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 This is kind of wild. Grover Cleveland 22nd and 24th U.S. President. Was born in 1837 his grandson George Cleveland is still living and is only 62! Quote

That grandson is also a descendant of Pocahontas thru his mother. 1 Quote
oblong Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Following up…. John Tyler had the most kids of any president. 8 with his first wife. With his second, Julia Gardner he had seven. One of those, Lyon, who John had when he was 63, had a son when he was 65 who is still alive today. John Tyler had a daughter who died 157 years after he died. 1 Quote

Deleterious Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Love the Olympics. Every 4 years me and the gf act like we know everything about sports we only watch once every 4 years. 1 Quote

chasfh Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 My wife's nephew's daughter had her first day of school today. She is starting first grade. Today is July 31st. 😶 Quote
Hongbit Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Not sure where this goes since we don’t have an Olympics thread or a thread of massive fail. The Men’s 100M is probably the biggest single event of any Summer Games. It’s 10 seconds once every 4 years for the title fastest man on Earth. This is the call of Noah Lyles historic win by Leigh Diffey of NBC Sports. Ugh. Talk about play by play miss. This will go down in history as one of the worst calls of a big moment. Quote
Dan Gilmore Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 One of my most hated sports phrases “who wants it more”. What BS. Quote
