IdahoBert Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Raining and the Tigers score 2 in the top of the 9th. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 Everything is happening. Tigers jump ahead in 9th. Yankees have winning run at 3rd in the 9th. Red Sox have roared back to tie Washington. Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 (edited) Baddoo SFs Willi in. now 5-2. nice 9th inning here, and it looks like Fulmer might have the bottom half of the inning, so there's half a chance the Tigers can keep the lead. IdahoBert Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 If they’d won only 2 more each against CHI and CLE against whom they were terrible — 6-12 and 7-12 respectively — they’d have been .500. They were that close. But 77 is 31 more than 2019. Great season. 1 Quote
romad1 Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 This was a good ending to a screwy, but delightful season. Respectable again. Next season: World Series. Quote

So close to .500 but it was a mostly enjoyable season....once we got past April. Quote

Mike Shannon, another 1968 World Series participant, is retiring from the booth this year. The Cardinals did a nice pregame ceremony for him today. Shannon has been around baseball for a really long time. He almost died from kidney failure about 50 years ago. Quote
lordstanley Posted October 3, 2021 Posted October 3, 2021 She had no reason for an appearance this weekend, but popping in to say hi before she flies south for the winter. Will return for even more sweeps next season. 3 Quote
