I also mean at least Maton. We’d better get more than that back for Soto.

It's amazing how much higher the rest of the league views Gregory Soto than Tigers fans do... or at least baseball media anyway

Oh Lord - I don't think so. I don't like giving up any major leaguer for a bunch of middle aged minor leaguers.

Maybe not, but do you call him a major leaguer with a 648 OPS and negative WAR?

I doubt I'm going to mourn Soto's loss but I'm having trouble seeing how any of these guys do much for us either.

Yes.

But it's for Gregory Soto and Kody Clemens lol... for those two players, getting players who can be useful on the 2023 Detroit Tigers seems like a win. Even if they aren't necessarily longer term pieces.

I think the expectation of Phillie fans is they just acquired an elite level closer.    Soto qualifies for that when he’s on, but he’s just so inconsistent with his control.
