KL2
Tigers do love Carlos Correa but have heard from Tigers people who insist they will not spend $300M on any one player due to multiple needs. They are considering Javier Baez and Marcus Semien (and possibly Trevor Story though that’s unconfirmed), who won’t command that figure. --Jon heyman 7 minutes ago on the Twitter gram

Basically suggesting that this leak could be selective and in furtherance of interest in Correa If the "Drunken Sailor" comment means anything at all, it means the Tigers are not going to be the team to make the top of the market, and that's where Correa is going to go. I really think there was never more than, and continues to be, zero chance on Correa. I would see the the little tete-a-tete with Hinch more along the lines of "let's catch up on what's new since I won't be seeing you this Spring....." The young kids, if they are good, will get expensive soon.

Or perhaps AJ was doing Correa a solid, he had to of known being in a public place like that it would have gotten out so maybe this may make a team like the Yankees throw a Godfather offer at him to get him to not sign here. I hope that's not the case cause my heart has been set on him.

"I can't give you those dollars but maybe I can still help you get them!" Of course it's still not in the Tigers interests to bid up Correa's cost since it may drag everyone else's cost up with him, but I could see Hinch being a little off the reservation if he and Correa are actually tight - which I have no idea on either way. After five years of following American politics way too closely, it's hard not to consider how many anonymous leaks are done with an agenda. I have no reason to believe the same isn't true in baseball as well. Doesn't mean Correa is gonna sign here, but it could just be gamesmanship in an open and ongoing negotiation. We just don't know.
RandyMarsh
Correa starting to follow Tigers players on social media is what really got me excited, hell he started following Dustin Garneau of all people. I guess he could've done that just to get people talking but it seems a little unnecessary to me.

RandyMarsh
After looking at his social media profiles I noticed that he seems to be big into auto racing specifically open wheel racing like the Detroit Grand Prix. Maybe we can promise him a spot as next year's Grand Marshall to get him to sign.

He has stupid power to every part of the ball park.

But I would be very pleased.
